A little about our family: —
Jeff and Christie have a passion for the local church and God’s heart for discipleship.  They began their formal ministries working with students at Baptist Bible College, Judson College, and Moody Bible Institute.  From there God led them to develop and grow a small group ministry and serve on the pastoral staff at Harvest Bible Chapel in West Olive, MI for five years.  God moved us to the UK to serve with Reign Ministries planting a new church community and training youth workers.  God continues to unfold his vision for our lives and the newest phase involves joining Greater European Mission and FCC to grow our local church, Journey Communities.

Jeff is gifted in administration and leadership. He holds his MS degree in Eduational Leadership from Wheaton College.  Christie has her MS in Counseling Ministries and is gifted in the areas of teaching and counseling. She also has a creative side that she uses in her skills as a graphic designer.  Both Christie and Jeff love to read, spend time outdoors, and both with coffee in hand.  They are passionate about applying the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyday life and believe whole heartedly that God desires us to live out our faith within community – that is the church.

Their deepest joy in life are the three little ones that God has entrusted to their care. Misty Grace is 12 years old and in Year 7 ( 7th grade). She is a creative one who loves to do crafts, math, and draw. She is an organizer like her dad and she helps keep everyone in line. Aiden Jeffery, AJ, is ten years old and in Year 6 (5th grade). He has one of those magnetic personalities. He loves football, video games, and legos. Kaci Lynae is 5 and is in Year 1 (Kindergarten).  She’s got the purest British accent of them all as she can probably only remember living in England. Kaci has a million questions about this world and just needs someone with time on their hands to answer them all – and she will talk your ear off!

I’ll pray with you!

What do we do?

The Lothamers are part of a family on mission, sent by God to serve our world and learn to walk in His ways!

Our family, here in Bicester call themselves Journey Communities.  We are a local expression of God’s church.  We are made up of multiple gospel communities throughout Bicester who are listening to our neighbourhoods and hoping to encourage every person to engage on a journey with God. Our gospel communities meet up multiple times during the week to share our lives as friends and families.  As a larger group, we gather every other week to celebrate our faith in Christ and learn from the Bible together. Each community is actively asking God to show us how to serve our neighbours and love others as he has commanded us.

As a couple, we feel a personal call from God to help create a culture of discipleship here in the UK.  That means that as we have opportunities to help others grow in their faith, it’s very important to us that we  help them see Jesus’ original plan for the church would be that they be disciples who make disciples. We are working towards utilising simple, reproducible, and memorable ways that people can learn to live out their relationship with God and help others do the same.

Jeff and Christie are missionaries with Greater European Mission. You can read their mission statement here:

Journey Communities is a part of the Fellowship of Churches of Christ, a network of churches here in the UK. Read more about the FCC here:

We are active volunteers in youth worker training with Reign Ministries UK. Having been on staff with this team, we are absolutely committed to helping them achieve their vision to see a movement of youth discipling youth in the UK.
